Menopause support

In the UK, the average age for a woman to reach menopause is 51, although women can experience menopause in their 30s or 40s, or later.

Perimenopause is the period that precedes menopause and can start a few years before a woman’s period stops completely. In this phase, hormone levels are gradually starting to decrease and a number of symptoms can start to appear, including irregular menstrual cycles and hot flushes.

One unit of alcohol is 10ml of pure alcohol, which is equivalent to half a pint of normal-strength lager or a single measure (25ml) of spirits. A small glass of wine contains about 1.5 units, a standard glass is 2.1 and a bottle of wine contains 10 units. Meanwhile, a can of lager, beer or cider is two units
