What a glorious start to May but for many this will not be the time to enjoy it, because exams loom!
Alongside eating a good diet, a regular sleep routine, some exercise and fresh air, there are a few supplementary ‘tools’ we have to help for three important study requirements:-
- Brain function….eating oily fish or supplementing with a fish oil capsule to help support nerve endings, memory and mood. Algae options available for non fish eaters.
- Calm….Magnesium taken at night to help relax the body and mind for a good night’s sleep and help support regular bowel movement.
- Focus and anxiety relief….Theanine and lemon balm. This duo provides, I think, an unbelievable combination that works in as little as half an hour. It delivers a balance of stopping the racing thoughts and allowing for focus on the job at hand with the calming benefits of lemon balm. It doesn’t need to be taken for long as it works on the day, but I find when there is a period of stress, it works well taking it daily to see you through that time. Check with a member of our team on how best it might help you or your family.
Another tool that is important for calm and allows focus – especially in stressful times be it exams or other stressful times of life – is breathwork. I have been taking some breathwork classes with Kerry from Calm with Kerry and I have found it very helpful. Look out for a special event with Kerry in our next newsletter.
