Find out more about Creatine with Kate

One of the most asked questions of late has been about creatine.

When one of my favourite brands, Natraceutics, brought out their creatine this year it was a good opportunity to find out more about it. Yes, it is good for muscle building but it also has many other benefits.

Creatine is one of the most well-researched supplements. It is naturally made in the body, and found in certain foods (like red meat and fish), therefore plant based diets can be very low in creatine.

It supports the mitochondria in our cells which are responsible for producing energy. As well as being used for muscle strength it can also have many non-sports-related benefits, including:

  • Cognitive support – focus,  memory, mood
  • Energy
  • Sleep
  • Fertility
  • Anti-ageing
  • Neuroprotective
  • Improving glycaemic control in Type II diabetes

Creatine has become popular for:-

  • Perimenopause and Menopause supporting mood, memory, muscle strength and energy
  • Older people with a loss in muscle mass
  • Jet lag and sleep deprivation
  • Fatigue and poor quality sleep
  • Improving muscle strength – the benefits are better when combined with resistance training.

The creatine supplement from Natroceutics is sourced from Gemany, it is vegan and the Creavitalis trademark shows it is the pure creatine that’s used in research. Dosage is generally 5g/day for men and women, but more can be used – e.g. 10-20g if needed.

Take at any time of day (in cold water/smoothie). Very occasionally it may affect someone’s sleep.

Please come in and speak to us if you want to find out how creatine could benefit your lifestyle.
